VEDIC METEOROLOGY 2024 ANNUAL WEATHER FORECAST (For the Indian Sub-continent)

DETAILED FORECAST:
From the beginning of February till the middle of October, 2024 Conditions will
progressively become HOT registering FAR ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES throughout
India. Comparing to the southern states Central and North Indian states will be more
affected due to this Extreme Hot conditions. These conditions will progressively
increase from 2023-24 to 2027 and rapidly drop to normal & below normal from 2028.
2024 Southwest Monsoon will be 30-35 percent DIFICIT and
2024 Northeast monsoon will be 35 to 40 percent DIFICIT.
A) Squally winds Thunderstorms are warned from the beginning of March 2024 till the
middle of April, 2024. These conditions will be experienced more in the southern states
and in the northeast states. (B) From 20th April, 2024 till the first week of June 2024
interior districts of the southern States will get moderate to Heavy rainfall. North &
Northwest States will also get moderate to heavy rainfall. During (A)&(B) Hilly regions &
High altitude regions will get more rainfall than the plains.
During (A)&(B) Conditions will remain “Very Hot with Far above Normal Temperatures”.
Humidity level will be very high above Latitude 18 deg N & dry conditions below that.
Important dates for Preventive measures:
(A) i) Thunderstorms, Killer Lightning with Moderate to heavy rainfall are forecast from
3rd to 6th March, 2024 and again between 8th and 12th March, 2024. South Tamilnadu,
West Bengal and Northeast States will experience these conditions.
ii) Powerful Extra-Tropical cyclonic circulation will cause severe Thunderstorms with
Heavy to Very Heavy rainfall between 16th March and 25th March, 2024. West Bengal
and Northeast States will be affected. Interiors of Southern States will experience
isolated moderate rainfall.
iii) Low pressure system in the Bay of Bengal will cause moderate to Heavy rainfall
between 1st and 3rd April, 2024. This system will become depression dumping heavy to
very heavy rainfall between 5th and 8th April, 2024 and will cross the coast as a
Cyclone around 14th April, 2024 between Chennai and Bapatla, AP. Landslides are
warned during the above period and heavy to very Heavy rainfall till 18th April, 2024.

B) From 20th April, 2024 till the first week of June 2024 interior districts of the southern
States will get moderate to Heavy rainfall. North & Northwest States will also get
moderate to heavy rainfall during the above period:
i) Moderate to Heavy rainfall is forecast between 22nd & 24th April, 2024. A sub-tropical
cyclonic circulation will dump heavy to very heavy rainfall causing flash floods
between 30th April & 8th May, 2024. Killer Lightning warned during the above periods.
Conditions will be favourable for the timely on set of 2024 Southwest Monsoon
between 22nd May and 1st June, 2024.
Powerful Tropical Cyclone is forecast between 30th May, 2024 and 7th June, 2024. This
cyclone will cross the Gujarat coast via the gulf of Khambhat around 5th June, 2024.
Catastrophic devastations and Severe flooding are warned during the above period.
C) 2024 Southwest Monsoon will be near normal above, across the axis of latitude18
deg N tilted northeastwards and deficit below the axis of latitude18 deg N.
Hilly regions and High Altitude regions will experience more rainfall than the plains.
i) From the beginning of June, 2024 till the middle of August, 2024 States above and
across Latitude 18 deg N will experience Heavy to Very Heavy rainfall causing
Catastrophic flooding and devastations due to Extra-Tropical Cyclonic circulation,
Anti-Cyclonic circulation, Sub-Tropical Cyclonic circulations and Convective activity.
During the above period South Maharashtra, South Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh,
Odisha, Telangana, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala will
experience ‘Far below Normal Rainfall”. During the above period Temperatures will
remain ‘Far above Normal”.
Important dates for Preventive measures:
a) Between 13th and 16th June, 2024 and again on 21st & 22nd June, 2024 Heavy to
Very Heavy rainfall, Flash floods are forecast. Coastal Karnataka, Maharashtra, Interior
Gujarat and northeast states will experience the above conditions,
b) Between 29th June and 7th July, 2024 heavy to very Heavy rainfall will cause
Catastrophic floods (Very severe on 2nd & 3rd July’24) North Maharashtra, North
Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Uttaranchal, Uttar Pradesh,
Chhattisgarh and Gangetic West Bengal will experience the above conditions,
c) Strong western disturbance induce Heavy to Very heavy rainfall causing Severe
floods between 12th and 21st July, 2024. West and Northwest states will experience the
above conditions. Killer lightning warned during the above periods (b & C),
d) Between 27th July and 5th August, 2024 Powerful extra tropical cyclonic circulation
& anti-cyclonic circulation will dump heavy to very heavy rainfall causing
catastrophic flooding &devastations in the north, west and northwest states. Killer
lightning and Landslides warned during the above period,

Important dates for Preventive measures:
e) Between 12th &14th August, 2024 look for powerful sub-tropical cyclonic circulation
& anti-cyclonic circulation dumping heavy to very heavy rainfall causing flash floods,
West, Northwest and northern states will experience the above conditions. Killer
lightning warned during the above period,
f) Between 16th August and 27th August, 2024 a tropical cyclone is forecast in the Bay
of Bengal. This system will cross the coast around 24th August, 2024. Catastrophic
flooding and devastations are warned during the above period. Killer lightning
warned during the above period,
ii) From the last week of August, 2024 and early days of October, 2024 Bay of Bengal
will experience spate of Cyclones. Hilly regions, high altitude regions will experience
heavier rainfall than the plains. Catastrophic flooding and devastations are warned
due to heavy to very heavy rainfall during the above period. Central states across
and above latitude18 deg N will experience these conditions; during the above
period moderate rainfall is forecast for the regions below latitude18 deg N,
Important dates for Preventive measures:
a) Between 28th August and 4th September, 2024 a severe cyclone is forecast in the
Bay of Bengal. This cyclone will cross the coast between Paradwip and Bangladesh
around 4th September, 2024. Catastrophic devastations, Landslides & Killer lightning
are warned during the above period. This system will travel inland and cause severe
flooding in the northeast states between 10th and 13th September, 2024,
b) Very severe Cyclone is forecast between 17th September and 26th September,
2024. Devastations due to cyclonic storm will be more than the rainfall at the time of
crossing the coast between Chandipur and Bangladesh around 22nd September,
2024. Weakened system will dump heavy to very heavy rainfall causing flash floods till
28th September, 2024, northeast states will experience these conditions,
c) Sub-tropical cyclonic circulation will dump heavy to very heavy rainfall causing
flash floods between 1st and 4th October, 2024,
During the periods of (i) and (ii) the Peninsular states will experience moderate to
occasional heavy rainfall. Hilly regions and High Altitude regions will experience more
rainfall than the plains. During the above period withdrawal of 2024 Southwest
monsoon is forecast. Due to uneven distribution of rainfall above and below Latitude
18 deg N (tilted towards northeast) 2024 Southwest monsoon will yield “DEFICIT
RAINFALL”. Peninsular states will suffer “Large Deficit rainfall” while the northern states
will have “Near Normal Rainfall”. Overall SW monsoon rainfall deficit will be 30-35
percentage of annual average rainfall.

D) Moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast between 10th and 13th October, 2024.
Interiors of southern states will experience this rainfall.
2024 NORTHEAST MONSOON will set around 16th/17th October, 2024. Monsoon
conditions will remain WEAK and INDIFFERENT. Hilly regions and High Altitude regions
will experience more rainfall than the plains.
I) Between 19th and 24th October, 2024 fairly widespread moderate to heavy rainfall is
forecast. Interior districts of Tamilnadu & Kerala will experience better rainfall
conditions than the coastal areas. Landslides are warned till 3rd week of Jan, 2025.
ii) Between 29th October, & 3rd November, 2024 more widespread rainfall is forecast.
Interior districts of Tamilnadu & Kerala will experience these conditions.
iii) Convergence of two low pressure troughs from the west coast and east coast will
unleash heavy to very heavy rainfall between 7th & 12th November, 2024. Possibility of
rainfall falling more on the ocean than on the land,
iv) Between 14th & 17th November, 2024 and again from 22nd & 25th November, 2024
due to convergence of two low pressure troughs from the west coast and east coast
moderate to Heavy rainfall is forecast at fairly widespread places. Interior districts and
coastal areas of Tamilnadu will experience the above conditions.
v) Central and southern districts of Tamilnadu will experience Heavy to very heavy
rainfall between 27th November and 2nd December, 2024, Dry winter conditions will
emerge from the first week of December, 2024,
vi) Between 4th and 10th December, 2024 moderate to very heavy rainfall is forecast at
fairly widespread places in the central and interior districts of Tamilnadu. During the
above period localized storms will cause damages and upset normal life,
vi) Simultaneous low pressure system in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal is
forecast between 13th December and 24th December, 2024. The weak Bay of Bengal
system will cross the coast near Tondi around 23rd December, 2024. The system in the
Arabian Sea will drift towards Somalia weaken and dump heavy to very heavy rainfall
between 26th and 30th December, 2024.
Withdrawal of 2024 Northeast monsoon and Dry winter conditions are forecast from
the last week of December, 2024. Overall northeast monsoon rainfall will be 35-40
percent deficit.
#2024-25 WINTER: Winter over southern peninsula will be warm and wet from end of
October, 2024 till the first week of November, 2024. FAR BELOW NORMAL
TEMPERATURES & wet conditions will be recorded from the middle weeks of November,
2024 till the first few days of December, 2024. Warmer and Dry conditions will emerge
again during the first two weeks of December, 2024. Warm and Wet conditions will
emerge from the third week of December, 2024 till the first week of January, 2025.

#2024-25 WINTER: (cont’d)
From the beginning of November, 2024 North Indian states above Latitude 18 deg N
will experience dry and warmer winter. Fairly widespread Icy rainfall and far less snow
fall is forecast from the third week of middle of November till the first week of
December, 2024. Dry and Wet conditions will (Oscillate) See-Saw every fortnight till the
middle of February, 2025. These conditions will be experienced more in the north &
northeast regions than on the western regions. Emergence of a Strong positive Indian
Ocean dipole is forecast from the first week of January, 2025 and the second week of
February, 2025. Blizzards with Heavy to Very Heavy Icy rainfall/snowfall is forecast
during the above periods. Overall 2024-25 Winter will yield below average snowfall/Icy
rainfall. Landslides/Avalanches warned till the 3rd week of January, 2025. Hilly regions
and High Altitude regions will experience these conditions more than the plains.
Important dates for Preventive measures:
i) Moderate to Heavy Icy rainfall between 8th & 11th November, 2024,
ii) Between 15th & 18th November, 2024 localised storm dump moderate to heavy Icy
rainfall/snowfall causing flash floods is forecast,
iii) Between 30th November and 3rd December, 2024 moderate to heavy Icy rainfall
/snowfall is forecast, Landslide/Avalanche warned.
iv) Between 13th and 16th December, 2024 localised storm will dump moderate to
heavy Icy rainfall/snowfall causing flash floods,
v) The first major snowfall/Icy rainfall is forecast between 22nd & 24th December, 2024
and again between 26th and 30th December, 2024,
vi) Moderate Icy rainfall/snowfall is forecast from 6th to 8th January, 2025. Blizzards with
Heavy snowfall/Icy rainfall & avalanche is forecast from 13th to 15th January, 2025,
vii) From 21st to 23rd January, 2025. Blizzard with heavy snowfall/Icy rainfall &
Avalanche is forecast.
SEVERE WEATHER WARNING for the first half of 2025:
From the third week of February 2025 till the end of April 2025 emergence of strong
western disturbances & anti-Cyclonic circulations will dump Heavy to Very Heavy
rainfall (Atmospheric tsunami/Atmospheric waterfall!?) causing “Catastrophic floods
and Devastations”. These conditions will be experienced in the west and northwest
regions as well in the states of Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. The
southern states will experience these conditions till the end of May, 2025.
